Visual Arts

Ashley Ward (Inverness) is a versatile visual artist who works in variety of media, including murals, outdoor sculpture and jeweller.  She has experience as a camp counselor for children and youth and has worked in India and St. Lucia, enabling her to incorporate art techniques from these regions into her art.

Nancy Turniawan (Antigonish) has been actively her own art practice since retiring from teaching art.  She has experience integrating art into all subject areas.  Clay, mosaic, photography, using nature's materials to create designs, are ways of creating which I enjoy in my own practice. The experience of combining learning in all subject areas through an artistic perspective allows for wonderful ideas to spring forth from teachers and students. - Nancy Turniawan

Carl Zimmerman (Orangedale)
has worked at several educational levels. By developing basic drawing and painting skills he helps students to realize the inter-connectedness of art and to relate to it in ways that are real and relevant to them.
